We all know football is a game of two halves, but I hadn’t thought of table tennis in that way. How wrong I was – as soon as the half-time whistle blows, we leave the field of play, put our feet up, and refresh ourselves with orange segments!
Yes, the Christmas break is here already and soon we’ll be tucking in to those chocolate oranges.
So how are we doing at the half-way stage? And, just as importantly, how are you enjoying your games? Please, please do register on the website and post your comments.
Speaking only about the ‘C’ team, I can honestly say we’ve had a good first half, still unbeaten in the league (won 5, drawn 4) and still in the Gunson Cup handicap competition.
In the second half, we’ll need to get some fresh legs (literally), and introduce some tactical ploys we’ve been working on in training
as I’ll miss the last 7 matches in the league with a hip operation, but I’m sure we’ll still be in there with a chance of promotion by the end of the season. Andy Hickey has been our “Supernova” so far, with a 100% record in his league singles games.
