The eagerly anticipated match between the Southport ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams has been put back a couple of weeks. Colin Fyles reckons he couldn’t get together a full team, but the rumour mill has it that he was scared of facing a strong line-up of Peter Tod, Alan Nolan, Dave Ferguson and Stan Clarke

Whatever the reason, the re-arranged match still promises to be a “close encounter”, albeit without the usual Spielberg special effects. Look out for some UFO’s from Colin’s devastating backhand though!
