For the 2009/10 season, we will have six teams in all, three in Division 2 and three in Division 3.
History
A long established club (we recently discovered minutes of meetings dating from 1930 – see history link) with a new enthusiasm for the game!
After years of decline, we began our renewal in 2007, adding an extra 2 teams to compete in the Southport & District Table Tennis League, including a Juniors team.
In 2008, we added another junior team to make six teams in all, and the first junior team won the Division 3 championship by a large margin.
In the 2009/10 season, we will again have six teams in the League, three in Division 2 and three in Division 3.
In the summer of 2010, we reinstated a club competition for the Bertrand Travis Cup, first presented in 1961. It had not been presented since 1991 until being brought back as the coveted trophy for the top player in the club, based on winning the club championship.
